Hidden Illness and Medical Mysteries in the White House

Dr. Jim Turner, Marshall native and Family Physician at Cork Medical Center, will present: "Hidden Illness and Medical Mysteries in the White House" on Thursday, Feb. 23rd at 6:30 pm.

Presidents were not spared serious illnesses in their political careers with diseases such as cancer, heart failure, Polio, the Great Influenza, Addison's Disease, depression and a non healing gun shot wound to the chest.  How did these infirmaries affect their judgement and the course of the nation and the world?  Why did they deceive the public on their true health status?

Dr. Turner has met four Presidents, attended two Inaugurations, sat in the House Gallery for a State of the Union Address, attended two National Conventions and stood in the Oval Office, Cabinet Room and the Rose Garden.
