Marshall Public Library Renovations Update

Marshall Public Library held a "groundbreaking" ceremony October 10th.  The library will be under construction for approximately four months and plans to remain open during the majority of the construction. The project is being completed by Evan and Ryan Electrical Contractors out of Terre Haute, IN. Local foreman Tom Christianis leading the project under the direction of architect group Farnsworth. Renovations will include a new handicap accessible vestibule, updated computer lab, new staff workroom and restroom, new study room, modernized teen area, as well as improved restrooms, carpeting and paint.

Everyone is encouraged to continue using the library during the renovation, library staff will be able to assist patrons in locating items. Patrons may also use the library's online book and DVD catalog system. Patrons will receive a text when the item is ready for pick up.

The library's project is funded by a generous donation from former Handy Writer Colony member and author Sonny Daly and Illinois State Library's Live and Learn Construction grant.
