 The Friends of Marshall Public Library have been conducting oral history interviews with area residents since 1994. Interviews have been collected in conjunction with Smithsonian exhibits, local history projects, 4-H projects, and more. The Marshall High School class of 1999 contributed many interviews as a part of their local history projects; several interviews, concerning World War II, were conducted by Dan Crews While all of the more recent interviews were recorded digitally, many older interviews were recorded on cassette tape and transferred to digital format. As a result, some are not of the highest quality; however, based on their invaluable nature, they have been made available as part of this collection online. While some interviews play well on mobile devices (cell phones, tablets, etc.) others require a computer with external speaker for better listening quality. An additional collection of oral histories collected by Marshall High School students in conjunction with the library's 2011 "The Way We Worked" Smithsonian exhibition can be found here.
