Online Courtesy Card Policy

Marshall Public Library is pleased to offer one-time remote, online Courtesy Library Card registration for residents living within the Marshall, IL school district. This policy enables
eligible patrons to access library resources before visiting the library in person.

Eligibility:
 Must be a resident of the Marshall, IL school district.
 Individuals under the age of 18 are not eligible for online, temporary Courtesy Cards. Underage patrons must have a parent or legal guardian complete the application in
person.

How to Apply:
 Complete the Online Library Card Registration Form available on the library website.

Access & Limitations:

 Once the application is reviewed and approved, the patron will receive an email with their temporary library card number. This number will be good for 30 days and may be
used to access the library’s digital resources, including eBooks, audiobooks, and research databases.

 Physical material checkout and full borrowing privileges will require a brief in-person visit to verify the patron's identity, proof of residency, and/or property ownership.

In-Person Verification:

 Patrons must visit the library within 30 days of remote registration to complete the process. At that time, a staff member will verify identification and issue a permanent
library card.
