Statement on Potential Federal Funding Cuts to Libraries

As a library, we stand as a neutral, politically non-partisan institution dedicated to serving all members of our community. Our mission is to provide access to knowledge, resources, and a space for informed discussion, presenting diverse perspectives on all matters of public interest.

Recent discussions about potential federal funding reductions may impact our budget. While this presents challenges, we want to assure our patrons that we will continue to provide the best service possible with the resources available to us. Libraries have long been supported by a variety of funding sources, including local governments, grants, private donations, and community partnerships. However, whenever we rely on external funding, there is always the possibility that such support may fluctuate.

If the federal government is indeed facing financial difficulties, we must acknowledge this reality and consider how we, as a community, can adapt and do our part. Regardless of the financial climate, our commitment to lifelong learning, history preservation, and community engagement remains steadfast.

We appreciate the ongoing support of our patrons and stakeholders and encourage conversations on how we can continue to thrive together. Your advocacy, donations, and engagement help ensure that our library remains a pillar of knowledge and connection for all.
